I Spy A Bug
Music / Sound
As a composer and sound designer for this children’s book, I tried to observe nature – to observe these shapes and naive insects from a little girl's perspective. I used various orchestral instruments to mimic the appearance and operation of the different insects. Also, I put sound effects to add realism for the action of the insects, used colorful harmonies and a simple melody to describe the story, and created a warm orchestral feeling in the ending. My Goal was to give the listener a warm and caring experience.
Sometimes, hearing is more impressive than seeing. To work with this phone app (motion graphic project), I used piano as the basic melody and rhythm, recorded chirping and spring sounds, and used orchestral instruments to try and mimic the sensation of people closing their eyes and quietly listening to everything around them. The gentle medium can induce memories and help directly link people to their past, present, and future environments.
